Journalists can submit their work for the triennial Press Prize of Advocaat.be until 7 November 2025. The prize, good for €7,500, awards a journalistic production that brings law and the workings of justice to the attention of the general public in a clear, accessible and quality manner.

A lawyer on horseback through the streets of Brussels - it was a striking headline, and one that Mr Judit Karlsson did on purpose. With her action, she calls attention to the famine in Sudan, a crisis that she believes remains too much under the radar. "As a lawyer, you not only have legal knowledge, but also a voice, access to information and the responsibility to stand up for justice. You cannot ignore that - not as a human being, and not as a lawyer."

Anyone who knows or suspects that a lawyer is violating money laundering rules can now easily and safely report it to that lawyer's chief of staff. Each Flemish President of the Bar has set up an external reporting channel. These reporting channels are there for a reason: they stem from the Money Laundering Prevention Act of 2017 and the Whistleblowers Act of 2022.
