The Order of Flemish Bars ("OVB") has the task, based on Article 495 of the Judicial Code, of guarding the honour, rights and common professional interests of its members and is responsible for legal assistance, traineeships, professional training of trainee lawyers and the training of all lawyers belonging to its member bars. Thus, the OVB takes initiatives and measures useful for training, disciplinary rules and loyalty in the profession and for looking after the interests of the lawyer and the litigant.

By means of the news releases, you will be informed of, among other things, the regulations in force, deontological rules and opinions, legislative files and case law, training, the operation of the second-line assistance and Salduz, general meetings and other notices in the broadest sense, in the interest of the profession. The processing of your personal data for the communication of news items is therefore based on a task of general interest performed by the Order of Flemish Bars.

In addition, these news items also concern social updates relevant to the legal profession, such as, among others, in the press release Chairman on Friday, or events (outside the context of continuing education). The processing of your personal data to send such communications is based on the legitimate interests of the OVB and the wider profession to disseminate relevant information for the practice of the profession.
