What is a registry?

A registry usually consists of a chief clerk, one or more clerks and the registry staff. The registry takes care of all court administration, such as:

  • Recording all communications related to a particular case.
  • Accepting requests from people asking a judge for a ruling.
  • Monitoring the conduct of hearings
  • Preparing documents and giving copies
  • Retaining documents
  • Cooperating judge
