What does a BJB do?
BJB is the abbreviation for legal aid bureau, which organises (partially) free lawyers. If you apply to a BJB, they will check whether you are entitled to a free lawyer based on a number of elements.
Each Flemish Bar Association organises its own second-line assistance, through their own Legal Aid Office. These are the well-known"free lawyers" or pro bono lawyers. The BJB reviews your case and refers you to a lawyer who will help you further.
