Florian Pollefeyt wins prestigious thesis award

Florian Pollefeyt, a graduate of KU Leuven with first-class honours for both his bachelor's and master's degrees, has won Advocaat.be's 2023 thesis award. His exceptional achievements and dedication to legal research have been rewarded with a sum of 2,500 euros.

Florian's winning thesis, entitled "(In)sense of the B2B non-contractual terms doctrine after the reform of contract law", attracted the jury's attention because of its clear research question that runs like a thread through the work. The work is characterised by a logical structure, in-depth comparative law research and critical analysis of legal doctrine, case law and legislation. Not limited to mere description, Florian's thesis goes further by adopting his own critical position on various points and even formulating proposals.

Advocaat.be, the professional organisation of Flemish lawyers, recognises the importance of such in-depth research and encourages students to devote their master's thesis to the legal profession or the organisation and functioning of justice. Advocaat.be's annual thesis prize, worth €2,500, is awarded to the student doing the best work in this field.

Florian Pollefeyt's win reflects not only his academic excellence, but also his commitment and contribution to the legal world. The Advocaat.be thesis award acts as a bridge between the legal profession and future legal professionals, highlighting the importance of high-quality research and commitment to legal practice.
